Separation and purification plants with lamella plate settling tank

The use of lamella plates increases the separation area of settling tanks considerably, obtaining more efficient separation for the same incoming flow rate, with dimensions up to 90% less than conventional sedimentation tanks, reducing space and costs for civil engineering works. When the water runs over the lamella plates the suspended particles settle in a countercurrent pattern and are deposited in the lower cone.

This system finds application in the treatment of water containing solids with low specific weight, such as surface water from rivers and lakes.

The lamella plates can be used in various types of sedimentation (primary, secondary or tertiary) and their use can also be adapted to purifiers, flocculation systems and flotation units. The geometric configuration of the plates can be rectangular or have other forms, depending on the shape of housing tanks and type of fluid treated.

The versatility of lamella plates enables their use in varied applications, as they are modular and can operate in a parallel or series arrangement.

Lamella plates are usually made of AISI 304, AISI 316 steels or galvanised steel, and are anchored to a set of tank support brackets. Spillways with a weir profile collect the purified fluid.
